Residents Appealed to Stay Alert for Extreme Weather As Flood Recedes

Flood that hit several areas in Jakarta since Monday (3/3) is totally recede on Wednesday (3/5) at 11 PM.

BPBD ensures the flood in Jakarta recedes fully

Previously, there were 11 RTs in West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta remain flooded up to 8 PM, Wednesday (3/5).

"BPBD ensures the flood in Jakarta recedes fully," said Regional Disaster Handling Agency Implementer Unit Head, Isnawa Adji, Wednesday (3/5) night.

285 Personnel Deployed to Clean Post-flood Garbage

Isnawa thanked the collaboration of Regional Working Units such as BPBD, Water Resources Agency, Fire Handling and Rescue Agency, Bina Marga Agency, Environmental Agency, Satpol PP, and Urban Village PPSU personnel. They deployed personnel and equipment such as mobile pump to pump the inundation, and ensured the channel worked well.

"RT/RW, FKDM and other community leaders were also involved," he added.

In fact, Isnawa continued, Jakarta BPBD reminds the residents to stay alert with flood potential. As predicted by BMKG, there is extreme weather potential in Jakarta on March 11-20, 2025.

Responding this, Jakarta Provincial Government cooperates with BMKG to run Weather Modification Operation in order to lower the rainfall intensity.

"Please contact 112 for an emergency situation. The service is 24 hours free," he stated.
